About Course

About the Course:

[Design & Analysis of Reinforced Concretes, Buildings & Bridges]

Civil and Structural Engineers have become more dependent upon Analysis, Design and CAD Detailing software for their calculations and drawings.

This course will include practical exercises and assignments that will lead to a certificate of competency. Our ultimate goal is to enable you to deliver a technical design and analysis of any type of building structure. The entire course has been explained and developed using both British (BS8110) and Eurocode standards.

Course Highlights

What you’ll learn

  • How to prepare building plans for structural design
  • How to cut building plan into panels for structural design
  • How to export cut panels from AutoCAD to Protastructure software for modeling
  • Understanding Grid Lines relabeling in Protastructure
  • How to add all the structural elements such as Beam, Column and Slab
  • How to Generate multiple storeys in Protastructure
  • how to load the building and apply loadings combination to the structural elements
  • How to set building material and soil bearing capacity
  • How to run zero error check for the building model stability
  • How to run static analysis and design of the whole building
  • How to do interactive design of each of the structural elements
  • Checking analysis and design results
  • Foundation design of the building
  • How to export drawings to Prota details and to AutoCAD
  • How to edit and details foundation layout and footings to standard working drawings
  • How to edit and details columns, beams, slab and parapet to standard working drawing
  • Understanding how to scale drawings to scale 1:100,1:50,1:25,1:10 etc.
  • How to set title block to scale and add details drawings as well as printing

Prerequisites

No previous experience with Prota Structure is necessary, but a general knowledge of AutoCAD is an advantage.

Course Benefits

  • This course will enable us to perform the analysis & design of building structures
  • Understand the easiness of modelling complicated geometry
  • Global usage, good technical support
  • It supports a lot of many international codes of practice, supports almost every material analysis.
  • All the powerplant structures, industrial structures etc are analyzed and designed using Prota.
  • Prota allows optimization of member design by using the recommended code for standard sections.
  • You will learn to use Prota as per industry practices in real projects.
  • How to cross check Prota design by calculations
  • You will learn to document & detail and produce hand sketches.
  • The course makes you job ready with all skillset for interviews
  • Prota is used in the design of culverts, petrochemical plants, tunnels, Bridges and culverts etc.
  • Analysis and Design of RCC structure (Includes all basic concepts explained like stress strain curve for concrete & steel)
  • Design and Detailing of RCC slab, beam, column and foundation, Eccentric
  • It supports over 90 International concrete, steel, aluminum, and timber design codes.
